My project for 2010 is to enhance my silversmithing and jewellery making by branching out into making polymer clay beads. Already I have managed to make the necklace pictured here. I'm quite pleased with the way it has turned out. I strung the black and white beads with my hand cast silver spacers and added red coral chip beads.
I had a lot of trouble finishing off the beads and need to find out exactly how to get the best out of the medium. In order to do so I have enrolled on a two-day course in March at Zantium Studios in Derbyshire to get to grips with polymer clay beads.
To get going I will commit to posting one new item of jewellery per week alongside my usual musings and declutterings. Not up to the output of some of the more industrious craft bloggers who I intend to feature here throughout the year - but it's a start.
