During the course of my day job I was lucky enough to interview these guys, Richard Hoyland and Steve Coe, who were just about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime - to row the Atlantic on the Woodvale Challenge Rowing Race. The start date got delayed nearly a month due to bad weather and their nerves were getting frayed. But now they're off.
And wow they are currently in 8th place as far as I can make out. They've been going three days so far. Here's the link to the PR "Two men in a boat cross the Atlantic Ocean with 240 protein bars" I wrote for our client, CNP Professional, who has supplied them with the protein bars for the journey.
I wouldn't normally write about my work on my blog but their daring has really caught my imagination. To do something of this magnitude is just beyond me. I'm willing them on every inch of the way. I've even got my name on their boat - as I sponsored them.
And here's a taste of what it's like to be in a pairs boat on the Atlantic ocean in a storm. I feel seasick just looking at this.
