There is a world of art out there to be accessed through the blogosphere. And on a visit to Jasmine at Nature's Whispers I found out about the Erosion Bundle Project. Although not a fine artist myself and about a month late to begin the project, I still wanted to be a part of it.
The basic idea is to make up a package of items and put them out in the weather for a few months. Then unpack them and create a work of art from the weathered remains. But it's more than that, as it is a concept that has spread through various blogs, so that people all over the world are leaving bundles out to weather naturally.
I did it all in a bit of a hurry so the items in my package aren't really too imaginative but I think they'll weather well and I'll be able to put them together nicely at the end. I will probably add a couple more things to the outside of the bundle that I couldn't lay my hands on today.
I ended up putting some copper wire, some copper sheet, some wool, some wooden beads and a felt brooch I had bought at a school craft fair but which didn't quite do it for me when I got it home. It'll be interesting to see what I end up with in May. I also hung a couple of copper leaves I had made a while ago onto the string hanging tie.
Of course now it's hung up in the tree it actually looks like a fat ball for the birds! Gosh, they're going to be disappointed if they try pecking it.
The other bundles over on the Erosion Bundle Project website are far more arty. Jasmine's is exquisite, you can see her post about her bundle here.
I hope Kris who is running the project doesn't strike me off for lack of inspirational know how!

Welcome to the Project! I am sure you will be inspired by your own energy for this project cuz it is great! Your bundle is fun and I am betting that Mother Nature will make the difference you are looking for :)
Looking forward to seeing what happens.

I love your bundle, i am so glad you are joining in. I've actually thought of making more as mine was done in a hurry and every one elses look so good. Yours is amazing. I can't wait to see what happens with the copper and the wood. Metals can be very good for using in natural dye process.
Have a wonderful week end xJ
