I've had a great couple of days at a felting workshop run by Ewa Kuniczak. Initially I was just going to do one day on the Friday but she was so inspiring that I decided to treat myself and stay for another day. She comes down to Broadland Arts Centre in Norfolk once a year.
I really learnt a lot of new techniques both practical and in design. I ope to incorporate some in my work and hopefully move onwards with felting. I can certainly feel that I've been felting for two days my arms are aching especially from wanging (another of my technical terms) the millefiori felted cane.
Here's what I did over the two days.
It doesn't look much but the millefiori felted necklace was an immense amount of work but a process I will certainly repeat. The necklace actually needs restringing as it is too short and I want to replace the beads with real silver ones. The bangle bracelet is another item that I will be repeating possibly incorporating some silver.
The belt I really like and can see making a couple more of these for the art show if I have time. I also made a little flower but it isn't quite finished yet.

I just love Ewa.... shes so wacky! Im totally jealous. Is the belt nuno?? I love it. xx

I just enlarged the pictures and my gosh, can I see what work went into that necklace, beautifully done and the belt is a little treasure. You are so clever.

Ewa was also an instructor of mine. She is amazing and innovative and very giving. I have a great deal of respect for her energy and enthusiasm and talent. She is a gem! Your work is simply lovely, and the pods are pretty cool too!
Across the pond hugs,
